Thread Embroidery on a ‘Bubu’……….………………………………..Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria

The ‘Bubu’ is a long lose fitting frock also known as a ‘Mumu’ in the West.

Lots of women in Nigeria, other West African nations in addition to India, and Mongolia wear it.

I have several and must say they are quite comfortable.

What’s most inspiring about this style is that one can have different designs sewn on them creating fine intricate designs as seen above.

And men wear them too without shame -remember Jalabia? How’s that for a bit of Unisex Fashions from Nigeria!

I think it’s so cool how both sexes can adapt clothing designs.

    The Man & his Flowers…………..London Fashion Week #LFW 2013

It’s Day two in London Fashion Week. We see a trend of the floral suit. I mean, look at this guy. He is wearing the suit and not vice versa!

  9. The only thing left is music.

Even if it’s cold, sunny, foggy or blizzarding, music will always compose itself.

Teeth chattering, hands fanning, heels pounding on the pavement -the works!

There is music in California -Los Angeles to be specific.

Maybe someone could attempt to play music on the Walt Disney Concert Hall’s exterior walls….in the winter, summer, spring or fall.

As trashy as downtown LA is, one can always look to the concert hall to remember that, the only thing left that we will always have is music!

  10. One day, the whole world will succumb to the elegance of simple dressing.

The saying, less is more gives one so much room to be creative.

It’s the type of creativity that says, “Darling, I’m gorgeous and my clothes are complimenting that.

Like this woman here. Simple, elegant and very beautiful.

I took this photo in London in the summer of 2010.
